Mariana continues to inspire others with the dedication and work she does inside and outside of OASIS. As a workshop facilitator, she continuously tries to improve herself and seeks support from professional staff discussing different ways she can better help her students. Outside of OASIS, she has lead, and founded, a coed boxing club that supports female identifying and LGBTQIA+ students giving them space in a usually male dominated field. Mariana is a leader who acts and creates intentional changes. Mariana's values carry her through all aspects of her life reminding and inspiring me to do the same.
Ikran helped pave the way to get her former high school accepted as a CASP partner school, and she advocated for other alumni to be provided the scholarship. In addition, early on during the pandemic she stepped up to serve as the OASIS liaison to Associated Students on the COVID-19 student work group.
