Advice to Second Year Students: Don't change your values, beliefs, and who you are as a person to fit in with everyone else. Your unique experiences lead you to the path made for you. So, don't be afraid of being uncomfortable because that is a step further to growth. Don't change your roots, but try to branch out and embrace who you are becoming. Always be kind to not only others but also yourself as well. And remember to take it one step at a time! :)

Advice to Second Year Students:Please reflect on the mistake you have made throughout your 1st year. Spend time on improving on the things that you feel like you could've done better, whether it be something revolving academics or in your personal life, take the time to improve and use those lessons to grow as an individual.

Advice to Second Year Students: I know there’s a lot of pressure to have your academic and personal life figured out and set, but we sometimes tend to forget that we are all undergraduate student finding our direction in life and in the world! My biggest advice is to identify and hone in on your strengths. Don’t be afraid to pursue and explore your options and passions and make space for yourself in the process. It can be scary, but sometimes taking the leap of faith while trusting yourself and your abilities can help towards the path of success. So, have grace and compassion towards yourself, you are doing what you can, and it is better to try and fail than do nothing.

Advice to Second Year Students:Given my own experience, advice I would give to second-year students is to make sure they know they aren't alone in the obstacles they face. Don't be afraid to take extra time to truly find what you enjoy doing since it's natural to change how you feel about your major. Experiencing confusion or uncertainty isn't a sign that you're falling behind- it's a sign you're learning more about yourself!

Advice to Second Year Students: The advice I would give to second-year students is that as intimidating as it may be, you should attend office hours and cold email faculty as much as possible. As they begin to focus on more than just academics, having these connections with professors and faculty can allow them to expand their opportunities when it comes to scholarships, internships, research opportunities, etc. Not only can it open opportunities, but it can help them learn more about themselves as well as navigate what is it that they would like to do more career-wise having faculty that have had different perspectives and experiences in their fields of interest.

Advice to Second Year Students: Some advice I would give second-year students is to continue giving yourself grace. It's easy to say after your first-year that now you are an expert and have no excuse to make errors but that's just unrealistic. It's okay to continue making mistakes as long as you learn and grow from them, don't put extra pressure on yourself just because you've completed a year. There's new challenges and new experiences so allow yourself to continue learning and growing. You can continue to bounce back and keep getting back up, always believe in yourself.
