    Dr. Fricovsky participated and trained in the RMTL laboratory when he was a high school student and later as an undergraduate student at UC San Diego.  He enjoys working with students and supporting them along their educational and career path, and helping them achieve their career goals while learning valuable skills and knowledge that will help them be successful.

    In his first semester of college, Dr. Lu almost failed his first Chemistry class which discouraged him from pursuing a STEM degree.  Ironically, right out of college, he taught 7th grade science and math in East L.A.  During his tenure, he saw the type of impact that hands-on experiences, mentorship, and professional connections could have on students’ confidence and belief in their own abilities.  This motivated him to co-launch the OASIS RMTL program with Dr. Eduardo Fricovsky.

    Emme is committed to helping prepare students for their careers and post-undergraduate life. She would like to create more networking opportunities for RMTL students to connect with researchers and industry professionals so that they can receive invaluable mxntorship and gain even more exposure to their future careers.

    Psychology and Business Psychology in a double Major

    Mabel is an OASIS-RMTL Student Coordinator who hopes to maximally encourage and support the upcoming fellowship cohort so that their lab journey is a beneficial experience to all their life aspects. As a struggling first-generation, underrepresented undergraduate at her very first RMTL Lab last year, she is also in this role to proactively work in ensuring the success and needs of all students. Her goal is to provide cross contact and interactions to all of the student cohorts that RMTL serves. This includes OASIS-RMTL, PATHs, and other student groups.

    Through his role, Chiadika wants to help outreach to students, give them access to as many opportunities as possible, and help them develop their academic and professional careers. His goal is to expand RMTL and make it more known around campus, so we can provide opportunities for as many people as possible.
