    Interim Coordinator

B.A. Literary Journalism & Sociology (UC Irvine), M.A. Postsecondary Educational Leadership (San Diego State University)

    Message

Writing has the power to liberate and heal. This is something I’ve learned throughout my own journey. Writing helps me to think, learn, express myself, and educate others. It is through writing that I’ve gotten to know myself, and it is through writing that I’ve learned how to use my voice. I am in this role to support my staff in empowering their peers by helping them to find their voices and become stronger writers.

    Goals

Provide LATS tutors with the tools they need to succeed in their roles. Help students overcome their challenges with writing through our support services. Prepare students for their potential careers by expanding our focus on professional development.

    Message

The gratitude I had towards all the folks that acted as resources to help facilitate my college transition compelled me to also want to act as a resource for other students. Given my love for writing and student-centered learning, this role allows me to support our staff in empowering students to find their voice and become better writers.

    Goals

To improve the access and quality of our services for students not only needing (or wanting) writing support but also creative and professional development. Likewise, to ensure our staff is being holistically supported by focusing on their academic and professional development so they can continue excelling post-graduation.
