OASIS Transition Programs


Important Dates and Information

Important Dates

OASIS Transition Program applications must be submitted no later than midnight (PST) on the following days:

  • FRESHMEN:
    • Wednesday, June 17, 2009. (If sent by post mail, must be postmarked by June 17, 2009).
  • TRANSFERS:
    • Friday, June 26, 2009 at 8am. (If sent by post mail, must be postmarked by June 26, 2009).
    • Access to application page will begin after May 1st.
  • Follow all instructions
  • Include essay responses

FRESHMAN APPLICANTS WILL BE NOTIFIED ABOUT ACCEPTANCE BEGINNING MONDAY, JULY 6, 2009

TRANSFER APPLICANTS WILL BE NOTIFIED ABOUT ACCEPTANCE BEGINNING MONDAY, JULY 13, 2009

SUMMER BRIDGE:

  • BEGINS SATURDAY, AUGUST 1, 2009
  • ENDS FRIDAY, AUGUST 28, 2009

TRiO STUDENT SUPPORT SERVICES AND SUMMER TRANSITION ENRICHMENT PROGRAM (STEP):

  • BEGINS SUNDAY, AUGUST 9, 2009
  • ENDS SATURDAY, AUGUST 15, 2009

IMPORTANT INFORMATION CHECKLIST

  • TRANSCRIPTS: Please be sure that your final high school and/or community college transcripts are received by UCSD by the July 15, 2009 deadline! Transcripts should be sent to:

    The OASIS Transition Programs can only be attended by those students whose final transcripts have been validated by the UCSD Office of Admissions and Relations with Schools. The validation process confirms that all admissions provisions have been cleared.
  • For Freshmen: If you have received a grade lower than a "C", in any A-G coursework during grade 12, or your weighted GPA for A-G coursework in grade 12 is below a 3.0, you must provide a written explanation as soon as possible to the Office of Admissions and Relation With Schools.

    PLEASE DO NOT SEND TRANSCRIPTS TO THE OASIS TRANSITION PROGRAMS!
     
  • IMMUNIZATION REQUIREMENTS: Take care of all immunization requirements and send in verifying documents to UC San Diego Office of Admissions & Relations with Schools by August 1, 2009. Please be advised that you will NOT be able to register for Fall Quarter 2009 classes unless you have met all of the UC San Diego Immunization Requirements.
     
  • HEALTH INSURANCE: It is strongly recommended that all Summer Bridge students acquire health insurance available for use in San Diego before entering the Summer Bridge Program. Those students who attend the program without health insurance will do so at their own expense. Those who have health insurance will be required to show valid proof upon entering the program.
     
  • ENTRY LEVEL WRITING REQUIREMENT: If you have not yet satisfied the Entry Level Writing Requirement (Subject A), please visit http://basicwriting.ucsd.edu for more information.
     
  • MATH PLACEMENT EXAM: You must have some type of Math Placement test results in order to enroll in any UC San Diego math course. Please visit http://mathtesting.ucsd.edu for more information.
  • COLLEGE ORIENTATION: Make sure to sign up and attend your college orientation. The sooner, the better. Please check the new undergraduate student portal at http://newstudent.ucsd.edu
  • ADVANCED PLACEMENT SCORES: Make sure that UC San Diego's Office of Admissions & Relations with Schools receives your Advanced Placement exam scores.
  • UC SAN DIEGO E-MAIL: Begin to check your UC San Diego email accounts. This is the official mode of communication at UC San Diego. http://acs.ucsd.edu/students/
