Welcome to the Academic Transition Program!IMPORTANT DATES & INFORMATION
The Academic Transition Program begins September 2008 and ends June
2009; however, support via telephone, email, and/or in-person contacts
actually begin during summer 2008 when OASIS Resource Counselors contact
all OASIS Transition Program (OTP) students to address questions and
concerns freshmen may have before entering the university in the fall.
It is highly recommended that students apply and attend OASIS’ Summer
Bridge (4-week, residential) program or TRiO Student Support Services
(1-week, non-residential) summer programs. If students cannot commit to
these summer programs, then they may be considered for acceptance to
ATP. (Summer Bridge can accommodate 150 students, whereas ATP can only
accommodate 30 students.)
Important to note:
- All SB students become ATP students after the four-week,
residential summer program ends in August.

facilitate your transition and enrollment process this summer:
- Make sure to sign up and attend your college orientation. The
sooner, the better.
- IMMUNIZATION REQUIREMENTS: Take care of all immunization
requirements and send in verifying documents to UCSD Office of
Admissions & Relations with Schools by August 1, 2008. Please be
advised that you will NOT be able to register for Fall Quarter 2008
classes unless you have met all of the UCSD Immunization
Requirements.
- If you have not yet satisfied the Entry Level Writing
Requirement (Subject A), please visit
http://basicwriting.ucsd.edu for more information. This
requirement can also be satisfied by taking an approved summer
school class at a community college.
- If you plan on taking any math or science courses, please visit
http://mathtesting.ucsd.edu/ for more
information. You must have some type of Math Placement test results
in order to enroll in any UCSD math course and some science classes.
- TRANSCRIPTS: Please be sure that your final high school and/or
community college transcripts are received by UCSD by the July 15th
deadline! The transcripts should be sent to::
UCSD Office of Admissions & Relations With Schools

La Jolla, CA 92093 – 0021A
The final validation process of transcripts confirms that all
freshman admissions provisions have been cleared. If you have
received a grade lower than a "C", in any A-G coursework during
grade 12, or your weighted GPA for A-G coursework in grade 12 is
below a 3.0, you must provide a written explanation as soon as
possible to the Office of Admissions and Relation With Schools.
PLEASE DO NOT SEND TRANSCRIPTS TO OASIS!
- Make sure that UCSD’s Office of Admissions & Relations with Schools
receives your Advanced Placement exam scores.
- Begin to check your UCSD email accounts. This is the official
