Please read through all of these instructions
before applying online for any of our OASIS Transition Programs.
You must complete every question completely to be
eligible. The application includes:
- Part I: Essays
- Part II: Personal Information
- Part III: Optional Information for Further
Eligibility to TRiO SSSP
Incomplete applications will not be accepted!
Part II: Personal Information should take
approximately 1 hour to complete.
Part I: Essays
must be submitted at the same time as the rest of your application. We
suggest you write your responses to the following questions before you
begin your application, and cut and paste your responses into the spaces
provided in the application. This will ensure that you have submitted a
complete application.
Please save a copy of your essays for your records because we may not be able to recieve your essays the first time you submit them.
Please provide responses to ALL FOUR
questions below. Please limit your responses to 250 words
per question.
- Please discuss a difficult, challenging
situation (e.g., family, academic, social, personal, financial,
etc.) you faced, how it affected you, and how you responded
to the situation.
- The OASIS Transition Programs encourage
students to be aware of social justice issues as well as to
contribute to positive change on campus and in the community. Please
describe significant experiences (cultural, leadership, community
service/involvement, etc.) you've had that will enable you to
contribute to the diversity and learning among UCSD students.
- Please describe how your cultural background
might both provide a challenge and provide a strength at UCSD.
- Beyond what you have read so far, please
describe your expectations for the OASIS Transition Programs (what
you hope to get from any of our programs).
